Council of Europe
European Women and Sport Conference

The European Women and Sport (EWS) conference is a
bi-annual event bringing together delegates from across Europe to discuss issues in women’s sport. In 2011 it was London’s turn to host the event.

EWS, supported by UK Sport, the Sport and Recreation Alliance and the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation appointed TMG to deliver this event.  With the Council of Europe also using the event for their Enlarged Partial Agreement of Sport (EPAS) annual conference, and with UEFA on board as partners, there were numerous stakeholders as well as delegates from more than 40 countries.

TMG worked from the beginning, designing and implementing a website incorporating delegate booking and information, news, media releases, hotels and promotional films.  TMG designed the concept from brand and logo, through delegate packs to set designs, and created a twitter community for EWS2011 giving the EWS board lasting legacy. TMG facilitated the event including a trip for all delegates to the Olympic Park for the LOCOG hosted opening.

"The Media Group were a key partner in the planning and organisation of the 10th European Women and Sport conference in London – EWS2011. This is was a highly complex project with multiple international partners and delegates from across the world, including Japan. It also involved delivery on two different sites, including the Olympic Park.

Each member of the TMG team proved to be vastly experienced, innovative, flexible and their good humour in the face of logistical challenges was wonderful. They consistently went the extra mile and this proved to be one of the keys to the success of EWS2011. From Twitter to VIP transfers, press releases to stage management, I can safely say that without TMG this historic conference would not have been the success it was. TMG were absolutely fantastic and I cannot recommend them highly enough."
