An eye on the sky

I never used to check the weather forecast.  But over the last six weeks it’s been indispensable as we’ve travelled up and down the country staging The FA Umbro Fives (www.thefa.com/umbrofives or www.facebook.com/FAUmbroFives)

This is a brilliant event – The FA Cup of five-a-side football with players of all ability able to enter.  After local and regional heats the best teams get to play on the pitch at Wembley on June 5th – but there are also special invitations which mean almost anyone who entered can still get the chance to live like a pro for a day.

How do you improve confidence?

It was my 50th birthday a short time ago and in looking back at films of me presenting television programmes for ITV and Channel Four I was surprised by my own confidence.  I was able to stand up (or sit down), look to the cameras and perform.

Running a presentation training session, I began wondering how you can create at least a veneer of confidence (after all, if you can fake it, who can tell?).

Mixing business with pleasure

Had a great day at The London Club as part of Dame Kelly Holmes fundraising for her Legacy Trust.

We do a lot of work with Kelly and were at the venue bright and early setting up.  Funny how the weather makes everything so much better! Last year - same venue, same time of year but grey skies and wind.  This year blues skies and wamth and the whole day seemed to have a smile!
